The fast growth cycle of the hulu, and the nature of its own fibre, makes it easy for the farmer who grows it to intervene with the shape of the hulu. The hulu seduces its humans into becoming fascinated by it through its easygoing softness, so that one cannot help but think up all sorts of wonderful tricks to shape it. The mature hulu is inedible and has little practical use, but people still enjoy growing it. By analysing the material properties of the hulu through the lens of design, we hope to find some applications for this unique obsessive agricultural business in China.In order to satisfy the desire of hulu lovers to touch the hulu and to show its multiple forms, we designed a cabinet dedicated to the display of the handles, where strings hold the hulu to become handles.
